  • Communication: messages you send through our chat features, support tickets, and survey responses.
  • Uploaded content: raw footage, images, audio files, deliverables, and any other media you upload or link to via the Service.
  • Editor profile information (Editors only): portfolio links, reel URLs, specialties, software, capacity, Stripe Connect account ID, bank account details (handled by Stripe).

1.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages visited, time and date of visits, referring URLs.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies, authentication tokens, and analytics cookies (see Section 7).
  • Performance and error data: crash logs, performance metrics, error reports (via Sentry or similar services).

1.3 Information from third parties

  • OAuth providers: if you sign in with Google or another SSO provider, we receive your email and basic profile info.
  • Payment processors: Stripe shares transaction status, payment method type, and dispute information.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Process transactions and manage your wallet, subscriptions, and payouts.
  • Match Clients with appropriate Editors based on tier, specialty, and availability.
  • Send transactional emails (welcome, editor assigned, draft ready, comment received, payment receipts, payout notifications, dispute updates).
  • Respond to support requests and communicate about your account.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent activity or violations of our Terms.
  • Comply with legal obligations.
  • With your consent, send marketing communications about new features or offers. You can opt out anytime.

3. How We Share Information

We share information only with the following categories of recipients:

3.1 Service providers

  • Stripe — payment processing, subscription management, Stripe Connect payouts
  • Supabase — database, authentication, file storage, real-time messaging
  • Cloudflare — file storage (R2), video transcoding (Stream), CDN
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Sentry — error monitoring and crash reporting
  • Vercel / Lovable — hosting and deployment infrastructure

Each of these providers is contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we authorize.

3.2 Editors and Clients

  • When you submit a brief, your brief content (including uploaded footage and references) is shared with the assigned Editor for the sole purpose of completing the job.
  • When an Editor delivers work, the deliverable and any associated comments are shared with the Client.
  • Chat messages between Clients and Editors are visible to both parties.

3.3 Legal and safety

We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of BANGER EDITS, our users, or the public.

3.4 Business transfers

If BANGER EDITS is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred to the new owner, subject to this Privacy Policy.

3.5 With your consent

We may share information with your explicit consent, including testimonial use, case studies, or promotional materials.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data Retention

  • Account data — retained while your account is active.
  • Transaction records — retained for 7 years to meet tax and accounting obligations.
  • Uploaded files — source files retained 12 months from upload; deliverables retained 12 months from delivery (or indefinitely on Enterprise plans).
  • Support tickets and communications — retained for 3 years from resolution.
  • Marketing data — retained until you opt out.
  • Deleted accounts — most personal data deleted within 30 days; some retention required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

5. Your Rights
